Finiterre is an octagonal shaped home with large windows and sliding doors that allow 180 degree views of the Atlantic Ocean from the main rooms. Perched 45 feet above the beach affords views of the stunning turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean. A full lenght deck attached to the house leads to the steps to the beach below with an intermediate deck just above the beach perfect for sipping morning coffee or an evening cocktail while the colors fade from the day. Each of the two air-conditioned bedrooms also have a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Finiterre's open floor plan and attached deck allows everyone to remain part of the action. The most often entered phrase in our guestbook is "We don't want to leave!"

Greeting you at the top of the drive is a stunning Beauganvilla. The walled garden protects a variety of native plants from the salt air and each season affords different species to "strut" their beauty. Vases of fresh cut flowers and foiliage will be displayed on tables for your enjoyment upon arrival.

Mother nature puts on a show everyday with visually stimulating ocean views and ever transforming colors you can't find even in a big box of Crayola's! As the sun traverses overhead, the ocean moves through a spectrum of slippery grey and pink in the early morning sunrise, to eye popping turquioise in mid-afternoon, to jaw dropping oranges and yellows as the sun slips below the horizon. Moments later, millions of stars appear in the inky black sky.

Living Room Finiterre has a spacious and open main living area with great views from all three sides. The vaulted 16 foot high ceiling allows the warm air to rise up and flow out the cupola as it pulls in the cooling breezes off the ocean. Three ceiling fans help to keep you comfortable even on the warmest of days.

The Kitchen
(click on the images to enlarge)
The centrally located kitchen is fully equipped. The kitchen was completely refurbished in 2002 with all new cabinets, counters, and appliances and comes complete with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and blender. From the morning coffee to the afternoon margaritas, you can do it all efficiently in this well designed kitchen and stay close to the action in the main living area. Hand painted fish swim lazily down the wall and seemingly jump into the pan at the stove. Large cutouts in one of the kitchen walls, frame original bahamian water colors hanging in the entry hall and vibrant painted tiles behind the sink bring the colors of the sea and surroundings into the workspace.

A new one bedroom guesthouse was completed in February 2005 and is available to rent with Finiterre. This charming guest cottage has a beautiful ocean view with a lofted cedar ceiling in the living area, a small complete kitchen, a small bath with full size shower and an air-conditioned bedroom. If you need to accomodate another couple in your group, you can rent the guesthouse for an additional $750.00/week.
The newly completed guest cottage now allows larger groups to enjoy Eleuthera. The cottage has an eight foot window overlooking the Atlantic and is just steps from Finiterre. The open and airy living room has a lofted cedar ceiling with centrally located ceiling fans and many windows open to the breeze. The small kitchen is completely equipped allowing guests to fix their own breakfast in the morning before joining the rest of their group at Finiterre or fix a late evening snack before turning in for the night. The living area has touches of whimsy with colorful cheerful fish swimming lazily up the wall. Just outside the front door is a long deck that traverses the length of the cottage and the perfect place for kicking back with a cocktail and watching the ocean.
